Make it a PDF

Distilling PDFs for print is a simple process. PDFs insure that your document comes to us complete, exactly as you built it. Files are typically much smaller, making transfer faster.

Disadvantages are that PDFs are not easily edited, or modified. The quality of the file is totally dependent on the source.

We suggest that PDF files be made directly from Acrobat distiller. We do not accept files made from PDFWriter. This will require a full version of Acrobat. It can not be done with Acrobat reader alone. We support Acrobat 4.0 and higher.

Setting Distiller Job Options:
There are several options you can select in Acrobat Distiller that greatly affect the PDF file you create. You gain access to these options by launching Distiller. Under Settings select Job Options. This will open a multi-tab dialog box.

To make your PDF:

  1. From within your application, print your document to a PostScript file.
  2. Launch Acrobat Distiller - you will now be looking at the Distiller Main window:
    Distiller
  3. Select Open in the file menu. This will open a dialog box asking you to select the PostScript file you want to distill.
  4. Select your file and click OK. Distiller will open another dialog box asking you to name the new PDF file.
  5. Type in a name for your new PDF file and click Save. Your file is now ready to send to our FTP, or to transfer to your disc or CD.
